Called Chandana, Rakta or Raktachandana, Red Sandalwood, traditional Indian incense. Sandalwood, or chandan, is cooling, and considered to be of the padma (lotus) group and attributed to Amitabha Buddha. The sandal tree grows almost exclusively in the forests of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Timor Islands, and Indonesia.
